Sustainability and protection of Argan trees, the Barbary Fig and forest ecosystem are of great importance to Al Asyl. Ethical integrity throughout the supply chain is maintained with utmost cognisance. Al Asyl works alongside pioneers of the agricultural industry in Morocco and other regions. Their work has led to registering the Argan tree as a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) in Morocco, the first in all of Africa. As a direct result, there is greater vigilance of the ecosystem and progressive responsible management.
“Protected Geographical Indication - PGI: covers agricultural products and foods closely linked to the geographical area. At least one of the stages of production, processing or preparation takes place in the area.”
Al Asyl prides itself on ethical businesses and only collaborate with those who practice and are associated with ethical conduct such as paying fair wages to all employees. We have taken initiative to source our pure oils from a vendor that has an approved laboratory which certifies quality to ISO 9001:2008 and a vendor that actively contributes to the ecosystem and its management, and socio-economic development.
